Education and Training

Dr. Edelman received her bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where she majored in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology and minored in Women and Gender Studies. She began her doctoral program at Yeshiva University in New York after a year of service with AmeriCorps. At Yeshiva University, she received training and experience in CBT and psychodynamic therapy. She completed a clinical and research post-doctoral fellowship at the VA San Diego Healthcare System after her internship at the VA Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center.

In 2015, Dr. Edelman was awarded the Jeffrey Sage Memorial Award for Excellence in Clinical Psychology. She has presented and published on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for mood disorders, family treatments for attachment difficulties, adolescents and social media use, bipolar disorder treatment, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Edelman has been affiliated with UCLA Health at Operation Mend as a psychologist treating Veterans with PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury.
